  1. How long have you been on DeviantArt? - I have been on deviantART now for just over 8 years... Wow Time flies!

  2. What does your username mean? - My username JayCosplay was originally a badge name when attending conventions but is now part of my company name 'JayCosplay Props LLC' as i now make costumes and props for customers all around the world.

  3. Describe yourself in three words. - Obsessive Compulsive Creator

  4. Are you left or right handed? - I am right handed most definitely.

  5. What was your first deviation? - It was a sketch drawing of Motoko Kusanagi from Ghost in the shell. Motoko Kusanagi by JayCosplay

  6. What is your favourite type of art to create? - Anything from Canvas painting, 3D art to masks and props form films, tv and video games.

  7. If you could instantly master a different art style, what would it be? - Hmmm, i had to think about this, i guess it would be painting with oils...

  8. What was your first favourite? Black Haru Fin by xxpirokokunxx

  9. What type of art do you tend to favourite the most? - I guess at the moment it is cosplay photography.

  10. Who is your all-time favourite deviant artist? - I guess it would have to be Volpin for the sheer fact hes inspired me and countless others to turn our passion into our livelihoods and my life has never been the same since.

  11. If you could meet anyone on DeviantArt in person, who would it be? - Again I would say Volpin 

  12. How has a fellow deviant impacted your life? - Ive already stated above my biggest impact, but there are many others who produce beautiful work that fills my feed every day, each one full of inspiration in their own ways.

  13. What are your preferred tools to create art? - a rotary tool, soon to be a laser cutter and one day a 3d printer.

  14. What is the most inspirational place for you to create art? My workshop, it is my escape, my think tank, a place I can let my creativity run free every day.

  15. What is your favourite DeviantArt memory? Finding it 8 years ago and realizing there was a community of artists out there just like me, I'd always felt alone in my artistic endeavors and finding this site became the first time I  was ever able to truly share what i create with a world wide public audience.

Just wanted to say a big thank you to the people who have brought prints off me all year and especially to those who have done so recently, you guys have paid for my flight so I can spend Christmas in Ireland with my girlfriend. You guys are awesome. ^_^

Oh and I am officially taking orders for commissions on cosplay props, painting and custom prints. The slots are first come first serve. There's only a few open for now since it's the holiday season. But if you guys have anything you want making then run it by me and I'll let you know if it can be done.

Commissions and Freaking KOTAKU!!!

I'm seriously thinking about doing some commissions for cosplay props and some canvas paintings. I'm not sure yet but I'm seriously considering it. I already have an order to do some Assassins creed hidden blade gauntlets to as close to realistic as I can make it since the ones on sale on some cosplay shops are pretty bland and simplistic. If any of you have any ideas or are interested then let me know. If the demand is there then I might start taking some public orders.

It\'s over...

After 23 years of full time education, after all the exams, tests, essays, emotional turmoil and countless sleepless nights I can finally say I'm done, it's all over. No longer a student, I have a focus and at last a title to what I am. I am a Game Artist and I'm fucking proud of it. Thank you Dad, for everything you gave to get me here, it's all for you.

Update since it's been a while. . .

It's been a while so I thought I'd better update on how things in my life right now. Since the last update i have indeed gotten onto the 3rd year of my university course and everything seems to be going great so far, Its difficult work don't get me wrong but its great to be here and on this course. I worked on over the summer on my modeling skills and it really payed off when I came to to the DeLorean car project which you can see the renders of in my gallery. Drawing wise I've been experimenting a lot more with multicolor shading and highlight drawing techniques using white pencils on black. Coming up with interesting results and will carry on trying this out to see how it all goes but i like where its going but i still need to work on freeing up my style a bit more, still seems a bit locked in high detail, need to learn to be more free.

The biggest thing that happened to me since last May is the fact I have now got the most amazing person in my life and I'm so lucky shes my girlfriend, just so happy I cant explain. Shes on DeviantArt also so go check out my lovely Sues work here : :iconashla: Love you so much hun ^_^

But other than that i wish everyone out there well and look forward to showing you more of my work and seeing yours in turn.
